Jesus Christ, why do these people continue to get airtime?

“…Homosex-shuh-ality is not God’s best. I come from that value system of the scripture. I can’t pick and choose….I just try to love them and treat everybody with respect.”

You can’t pick and choose? Um, excuse me, but obviously you can — you choose to focus on persecuting gays but then totally skip over all the other directions given to you in the Bible like stoning adulterers and putting folks to death who dare work on the sabbath. And how respectful is it to treat a certain group people as lesser beings and not worthy of the rights of everyone else? Choose your words a bit more carefully, Joel — the ones you’re spewing now make you sound as stupid as your hair looks.

And what the fuck is with Barbara and Whoopi not throwing a verbal beat-down on this guy’s ass? And Joy Behar — what’s with the kid gloves with this jerk? Open your mouth and call that “life-coach-slash-minister” out on his shit on behalf of gays everywhere.

Who do you think is watching your sad sorry show anyway, ladies?

  1. Okay, I am in the true heart of Nawf Calina, and we have some fucked up accents. But who the hell could listen to this turd for more than a couple of minutes without purging!
I’m not gay but I’m sure the shit I do “ain’t God’s best” either.
Oh, and Bab’s, loose the fugly red boots!!!

  2. I was always taught God didn’t make mistakes… Based on his line of thinking “God didn’t do his best”, does that mean babies born with physical or mental handicaps that God was distracted, resulting in him not doing his best when they were created?

  3. I turned it off before he took the stage. Hasselhoweverit’sspelled was bugging the eff out of me yesterday and the possibility of her fawning over this guy made me grab the remote. Did she speak up for gays? She has said in the past that she disagrees with the Bible regarding homosexuality? I can’t watch the clip in Canada because of some sort of insane copyright issue.

  4. God always does his best except when Texas preachers try to woo their parishoners by down playing their sins and pointing the righteous finger at others. Then he chuckles and thinks what a surprise they are going to get on the day of judgement. Liberace standing by his side agrees.

  5. Too many mentions of god in the comments. This battle should not be over what religion says because religion is suppose to have no influence over how we govern. We do not put someones rights to a vote. Instead of fighting against having rights taken away the silliness (and danger) of this approach should be illustrated by putting different measures up to a vote. How about one preventing missionaries from ringing doorbells? or if a state has an income tax revoking the tax exempt status of the mormon church? of all churches? if we can vote on property taxes on special ballots we can vote on the tax exempt status of religions. I know it feels good to rollover and spread your cheeks but sometimes you have to be a top.

  6. And another thing – whatever happened to the right to sin? wasnt it the free choice that determined the entry to “heaven”? Being free from sin was suppose to be an individual journey with SUPPORT from others not passing a law banning anything. Where did these people ever go to school? were they constantly drugged up?

  7. I’m with Dennis. I’m still crabbed that because members of the religious right decided they didn’t want their tax dollars funding abortions through medicaid abortion was disallowed under the program leaving low income women with little choice but to carry unwanted pregnancies to term. How come they got to pick and choose how their tax dollars are spent? I never wanted to spend a dime on salary for Reagan, Bush and Bush/Cheney yet I wasn’t allowed to opt out.

  8. Dennis, I see your point, but the reason “God” is mentioned so much in these comments is that it was mentioned by Ass-teen, and the commenters are responding to it. I agree, however (and most rational people do), that religion has NO place in legislation, since each individual has the freedom to worship (or not) as they see fit, while legislation must apply to all people.

And if these clowns insist on introducing religion into legislation, then maybe it’s time to start taxing churches. Period.
