Christmas is eight weeks away and I need to get my fella a nice gift. A gift that says “I put thought into this…I took the time to choose something I knew you would like…I love you oodles and gobbles.”
Last year I gave him an i-Pod.
This year I’m thinking digital camera.
Of course, there are already the other items I’ve amassed over the course of the year: the Alan Moore/Alan Davis Captain Britain Omnibus; gift cards to his favorite bookstore and restaurant; a dvd; a new piece of luggage for weekend getaways; and a special Christmas ornament that I know (hope) will have sentimental meaning in the years to come (yes, I’m starting to think maybe this relationship may have legs…).
But I need that one gift with a “wow!” factor and this year I think it’s a digital camera.
So what do you guys think? Yea or nay? And if ye sayeth nay, what sayeth you in regards to a replacement gift?

Oh for Christsakes , have him move into your place or get a place together already!!! A digital camera is to expensive for anyone your not co-habitating with, so was a IPOD , but then again maybe your buying his love. Anyway, thats just me. You should do what you want.

Hmmmm…I’m hoping for a digital camera, too. I want to take pictures of country churches and turn them into a calendar with birfdays and special events for family and friends to have and enjoy all year long. Guess I’m shooting for calendars in 2012. I don’t think digital cameras are too expensive or that you’d be “buying his love”. Jesus, $150 doesn’t go that far anymore!!!! Have you priced escorts lately?

But, isn’t it time for a ring? Nothing says lovin’ like a ring for Xmas. Ofcourse I gave him his in June for his Bday.
My guy is getting a full length hunter green terrycloth robe from Land’s End, the Joan’s CD, a book about a local electrified 3rd. rail passenger system that ran until the 50’s and I forget but something else.
Hey, watches are nice gifts, too.
You have a lovely assortment of gifts which you spent a great deal of time and thought collecting.
And I bet what he really wants for Xmas is you.

I don’t think a camera is too expensive for someone you don’t live with after all you do love each other. Does he snap lots of photos or does he want to? I like the robe idea too, sounds lux.
A nice watch with engraving on the back is nice too. I haven’t given any thought to Christmas at all. Good for you

I say — Buy him what feels right to your heart.
During the last Christmas with my ex, I really took a lot of pleasure in seeing him open all the gifts I bought.
Only one was “too” expensive, but I have a picture of him, all smiles that morning as he was opening the gifts, and (although it ultimately didn’t work out between us) I still enjoy seeing the pic!
