After a long day at Chicago Comic-Con, I took The Fella out for dinner Saturday night and figured I’d use the opportunity to pick his brain for some potential Christmas gift ideas…
Dirk: Did you see anything today that you couldn’t live without?
Tristan: You.
Dirk: Nah, not really. Did you?
Tristan (laughing): I wasn’t asking; I was replying.
Oh Dirk, leave it to you to think the worst when given such a great compliment. What could he not live without? You and Batman No. 1. You’re in good company. Both treasures of the heart.

Dirk says: …I don’t see it so much as making it ugly as much as making it funny in a creepy kind of way. My life is such a freak show and Tristan is so normal that I have to give him a little “color” so as not to stick out like a sore thumb amidst the daily carnage.
